The opportunityThe Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership, organizational management, financial stewardship and community representation.

This role offers the opportunity to:

Lead a respected nonprofit with a strong reputation throughout the Capital District.

Guide an experienced staff and work alongside an engaged Board of Directors.

Advance innovative affordable housing initiatives, including sustainable and energy-efficient construction.

Strengthen partnerships with municipalities, state agencies, lenders, foundations, businesses and community organizations.

Shape the organization's long-term strategy while expanding access to affordable homeownership.

Success in this role requires balancing vision with executionthinking strategically while remaining grounded in the day-to-day realities of leading a complex nonprofit organization.

Key responsibilitiesThe Executive Director provides leadership across strategy, people, finances, partnerships, and housing impact.

Primary areas of leadership include:

Organizational strategy and Board partnership.

Staff leadership, operations, and organizational culture.

Financial stewardship, compliance, and risk management.

Resource development, community partnerships, and external relations.

Affordable housing development, homeowner services, and community impact.

The next Executive Director will inherit an organization with a strong foundation and the opportunity to shape its future. A detailed position description will be shared with selected candidates during the search process. This is a full-time, exempt salaried position, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. We value work-life balance, and are committed to maintaining a flexible, supportive work environment and schedule, supported by generous PTO. A hybrid work arrangement is available for this position with up to two remote days per week and additional flexibility provided as needed.
