- The program is a 255-unit residential community, including approximately 153 supportive housing residents and 102 affordable housing units.
The supportive housing population includes individuals with histories of homelessness, severe mental illness, substance use, and HIV/AIDS-related service needs.
What You'll Lead:

- You will work alongside an existing Assistant Director and oversee a team that includes Case Managers, a Senior Case Manager, Resident Managers, administrative staff, and other operational personnel.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the supportive housing program
- Lead, support, and supervise multidisciplinary residential and case management teams
- Oversee clinical, administrative, residential, and building-related program operations
- Ensure residents receive appropriate supportive case management services
- Manage resident concerns, escalations, and complex behavioral health situations
- Provide leadership during crises using strong de-escalation and conflict-resolution skills
- Oversee intake and occupancy efforts and support the program in maintaining capacity
- Ensure compliance with applicable HASA, ESSHI, and other contractual and performance requirements
- Monitor program budgets, contracts, documentation, and reporting
- Conduct internal audits and quality assurance reviews

- You may be a current or former Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Residential Services Director, Program Manager, Senior Case Manager/Supervisor, or comparable behavioral health/housing leader ready to take ownership of a large program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required
- Master's degree and/or professional licensure preferred, but not required
- At least 5 years of relevant experience working with populations impacted by homelessness, severe mental illness, substance use, HIV/AIDS, or other complex behavioral health needs
- Demonstrated experience leading and supervising staff
- Prior supportive housing, residential behavioral health, or residential services experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing complex resident situations, crises, and de-escalation
- Strong understanding of case management and person-centered services
- Experience with program compliance, documentation, audits, inspections, and/or government-funded programs
- HASA and/or ESSHI experience is highly desirable
- Strong judgment, communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, community members, and external partners
- Comfortable stepping into an established team and providing immediate leadership and stability
Why Consider This Opportunity:
- This is more than traditional temporary coverage. You will have the opportunity to take leadership of a large, established NYC supportive housing program, work with an experienced team, and make an immediate impact serving individuals with complex behavioral health and housing needs.
- The organization has a strong mission, promotes from within, and continues to expand its housing programs. While this is initially a five-month contract assignment, future opportunities may become available based on organizational needs and performance.
