Job Description
Physician Administrator - Northwest Ohio Developmental Center - Toledo, OH Full-Time | Day Shift Federal Staffing Resources is seeking a highly experienced Physician Administrator to support the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center and broader public health initiatives within the Ohio Department of Health. This is a senior-level leadership role ideal for a physician who is passionate about shaping public health policy, leading clinical programs, and driving statewide healthcare initiatives. You will play a key role in advancing medical strategies, overseeing clinical operations, and supporting vulnerable populations, including children with special health care needs and individuals impacted by infectious diseases. What You'll Do Provide medical leadership and oversight for public health programs and initiatives Direct systems of care for children with special health care needs, including policy development and implementation Serve as Medical Director or senior clinical leader within infectious disease control programs Oversee surveillance, analysis, and response efforts related to infectious disease trends statewide Lead development and evaluation of data systems and methodologies to track disease spread Supervise clinical and program staff, including healthcare professionals and administrators Formulate and implement medical policies on behalf of agency leadership Provide direct clinical care in complex or specialized cases when required Support outbreak investigations and public health response efforts Contribute to maternal and child health initiatives, including grant development and resource allocation Provide medical consultation and guidance across division programs Participate in statewide strategic planning for women, infant, and child health services

What You'll Need Education:
Doctoral Degree (MD or DO required) Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio BLS Card (American Heart Association OR American Red Cross) Current DEA registrationExperience:
Extensive experience in public health, clinical leadership, or medical administration Background in infectious disease, maternal/child health, or population health strongly preferred Experience supervising clinical teams and program staff Proven ability to develop and implement healthcare policies and programs Key Skills & Competencies Strong leadership in public health systems and medical program administration Expertise in clinical decision-making and policy development Ability to analyze and interpret health data and epidemiological trends Experience managing complex healthcare initiatives and multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication and ability to influence at the executive and state level Work Schedule Full-time day shift schedule Additional hours may be required based on public health needs or emergency response situations Work Environment & Physical Requirements This role may require: Work within clinical, administrative, and public health environments Participation in outbreak response or statewide initiatives Standard physical activity including standing, walking, and extended periods of computer-based work About the Facility The Northwest Ohio Developmental Center is a state-operated residential healthcare facility providing long-term care and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.The facility offers:
