Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates of all educational programs within the center ensuring that youth receive comprehensive academic support, enrichment activities, and life skills development opportunities, while collaborating with staff and community partners to achieve positive educational outcomes. Incorporates opportunities for youth to gain competency in STEAMM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) and music. Ensures that youth develop key academic skills, including research and study skill. Provides opportunities for college, career readiness, vocational preparation, and workforce development. Serves as a liaison with Corps programming staff to identify and incorporate mission alignment and outcomes. May be responsible for safely transporting center members and staff to or from school, activities, or programs and correctly reporting the assigned vehicle's maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs. Participates in the Salvation Army's ministry advancement by collaborating with the Salvation Army Officers to ensure Red Shield Youth Centers provide an engaging, enriching and empowering environment where youth develop Christ-like character, preparing them to become tomorrow's leaders.Operational Standards:
Assisting to ensuring all Tier 3 Red Shield Youth Center operational standards are implemented and maintained.Essential Functions :

Program Development & Implementation Responsibilities (60%) In conjunction with the Director of Program Services & Impact [DPSI], plans and oversees the administration and analysis of organizational-wide education curriculum and activities that support The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Centers Youth Education and Development Strategy. Designs and manages a robust educational curriculum aligned with academic standards, including tutoring programs, homework assistance, STEM activities, literacy initiatives, and college and career readiness workshops. Ensures that programs are safe and drive outcomes. Incorporates academic support and tutoring. Establishes objectives consistent with organizational goals and missions. Responsible for the administration of educational programs by overseeing educational programs and training at each Center; ensure the completion of required reports [particularly for grant/restricted funded programs]; and prepare any required interagency reports. Serves as the lead for educational program quality issues, coaching, training and respond accordingly. Participates in activities to maintain good public relations for programs, services, and activities. Oversees the provision of day-to-day education program activities in accordance with established standards and goals. Ensures that youth develop key academic skills, including research and study skill. Provides hands-on learning opportunities for participants to develop knowledge in content areas that complement the school day. Provides opportunities for college, career readiness, vocational preparation, and workforce development. Ensures that youth are encouraged to participate in a variety of educational program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s). Supporting common core standards and local performance benchmarks. Collaborate with Director of Program Services & Impact monthly to review and update the supplies, equipment, and curriculum needed to carry out programs safely and effectively. Demonstrates leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of youth. Establishes and maintains organizational-wide educational program goals and settings that insure the health and safety of youth. Ensures that staff understand and effectively communicate standards of program; that they ensure program areas are safe, well ventilated, and well lit; and that equipment is maintained in good working condition. Identifies individual student needs and provide targeted academic interventions, including mentoring and counseling services. Program Evaluation, Data Management & Resource Management Responsibilities (10%) Regularly assesses the effectiveness of educational programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify areas for improvement. Works closely with center staff and the Director of Programs and Community Engagement to maintain accurate records of student progress, program attendance, and required reports to meet organizational and regulatory compliance. Manages the comprehensive collection and reporting of information for education programs. Ensures the regular review of routine processes for data collection and reporting. Structures the database(s) and reporting to align with programming goals and reporting requirements. Completes the regular and as needed reporting to funding agencies and donors on program performance. Trains and supports staff to use data and reporting to support data-based decision making at the center level and program level. Develops and manage the education program budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Ensures the accuracy, integrity and security of all program data and memberships. Partnership Development Responsibilities (20%) Collaborates with the Director of Programs & Community Engagement build relationships with local schools, libraries, colleges, and other community organizations to access additional educational resources and support for youth and to maintain strong and intentional links to the school day. Collaborates with the Director of Programs & Community Engagement, develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, youth, parents, families, and community organizations. Collaborates with the Director of Programs & Community Engagement, increase visibility of center education programs via posting of education events, announcements of upcoming education events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers, and media releases. Partners with parents & schools to track student progress. Staff Supervision & Training Responsibilities (10%) Collaborates with the Director of Program Services & Impact, recruit, hire, and train educational staff, including tutors and program instructors, to effectively deliver educational programs and maintain high quality standards. Conducts regular meeting with the Director of Program Services & Impact to establish education program and training needs. Manages the personnel required to carry out the functions of the education programs and responsibilities of the position. Supports and responds to staff to meet their daily needs. Ensures consistent and regular implementation of policy and procedure with all personnel. Assists in planning and implementing a staff development and training program in collaboration with the Director of Programs & Impact and the Center team. Collaborates with the Director of Programs & Impact, onboard and train staff on an ongoing basis to ensure a prepared and engaged program staff to meet current needs of youth and funding requirements.Other Responsibilities :
May be responsible for safely transporting center members and staff to or from school, activities or programs as approved, and is responsible for the proper reporting of maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs of the assigned vehicle. Occasionally oversees special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary. Occasionally consults with parents concerning youth and center issues. May be responsible for safely transporting center members and staff to or from school, activities, or programs and correctly reporting the assigned vehicle's maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs. Performs other related work as required.Work Environment :
This job is performed in a youth center environment and out in the community. Time is also spent at facilities similar to youth recreational facility or community center. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and at times loud. Work sites are often located in low-income areas and challenging neighborhoods. Position requires employees to occasionally work with challenging youth and family members. § Speak with or assist upset parents/guardians. § Occasionally to frequently speak with upset external partners or community members. § May be exposed to emotional outbursts from youth or their family members and may be exposed to germs and children who are ill. Position requires travel within the Center locations and outside of the geographic area of Center locations.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to remain in stationary position frequently. Occasionally move about the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, attend meetings and the like. Frequently move about the community to complete job duties. Frequently operate a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, and the like. Frequently communicates with staff, partners, community, and the like to conduct regular business operations. Daily operation and use of software and computer applications required for business functions. Frequently spend time in intense concentration reviewing and entering information into computer. Ability to communicate with individuals utilizing a telephone, computer, or other electronic device. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly. Ability to drive an approved vehicle to transport youth center staff and members in a safe manner obeying all driving requirements and standards. Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events. May require travel outside of the geographic area of Center location.Employee Benefits :

Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in education, from an accredited college or technical/vocational school in youth development, or a related field, Master's degree preferred. And Three years of proven experience in managing educational programs for youth, preferably in an after-school or community center setting. or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position requires evenings and weekends as needed to supervise and respond to center needs and requirements, includes meetings, phone calls, texts and emails as needed.Licenses and Certifications :
Valid State Driver's License Teacher Certification/VALID Teaching license. Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.Equal Opportunity Employer:
