  • $110,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Qualifications Family planning Master's degree Public Health Team management Public health Data collection Full Job Description The Director of Education and Research position is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and strengthening all education and research activities supporting the organization's Title X and NJDoH-funded family planning initiatives.
This includes oversight of curriculum development, staff training, data collection, research design, evaluation, quality assurance, and compliance with federal and state program requirements. This position reports to the President & CEO. The Director ensures that all activities meet Title X regulations (42 CFR Part 59), NJDOH Family Planning Program Standards, evidence-based guidelines, and organizational priorities around health equity and reproductive autonomy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Title X & State Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure all educational materials, training programs, and research initiatives meet Title X rules.
  • Maintain compliance with NJDOH family planning service standards and reporting requirements.
  • Develop SOPs that support compliance across education and research activities. 2. Education & Training Leadership
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of reproductive health education programs.
  • Ensure content is medically accurate, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and youth-friendly.
  • Oversee continuing education opportunities for staff.
  • Support trainings on contraceptive counseling, adolescent confidentiality, health equity, and trauma-informed care. 3. Research, Evaluation & Quality Improvement
  • Design and oversee research, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead needs assessments, patient experience studies, and community surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy standards (HIPAA, Title X confidentiality).
  • Develop reports and evidence summaries for leadership and funders. 4. Grant-Funded Program Oversight
  • Provide oversight for Title X and NJDOH-funded projects.
  • Collaborate on grant writing, reporting, evaluation plans, and deliverables.
  • Produce high-quality program reports and documentation for funders. 5. Partnerships & Public Health Engagement
  • Build partnerships with NJ clinical agencies, schools, community organizations, and health departments.
  • Represent the organization in statewide professional networks related to FP/RH.
  • Participate in Title X and NJDOH convenings. 6. Team Leadership & Management
  • Supervise staff engaged in education, research, and quality work.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, and timelines. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the job responsibilities and deliverables. Work Schedule and Time Commitment
  • Flexible Schedule
  • The League maintains a flexible schedule. Employees must work a minimum of seven (7) hours per day with a thirty (30) minute lunch period. Employees must begin the workday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. All employees are expected to be available between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Hybrid Schedule
  • The League maintains a hybrid work environment. Employees must work in the League office a minimum of 3 days a week and may work in a remote capacity the remaining 2 days per week. Employees may elect to work in the office up to 5 days a week.
  • Flexible hours and schedule must be coordinated with your supervisor and are subject to change based on business needs.
  • No Travel required. Required Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Health Services Research, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Family Planning/Reproductive Health (FP/RH), sexual health education, or public health research experience.
  • Experience in Title X or state-funded FP/RH programs.
  • Track record of evaluation design and research execution.
  • Experience managing teams and multi-site projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with NJDOH or NJ Title X agencies.
  • Familiarity with NJ reproductive health landscape.
  • Experience with Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) methodologies.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools. Physical Requirements
  • Long periods of sitting.
  • Ability to move throughout the office and walk or get to all areas.
