Job Description:

Location Reston, VA (Hybrid) The National Fisheries Institute (NFI), the leading trade association representing the U.S. seafood industry, is seeking an early-career government relations professional to join our advocacy team. This is a unique opportunity to gain direct exposure to Congress, federal agencies, coalition partners, and industry leaders while working on issues shaping food policy, trade, sustainability, nutrition, and supply chains. What You'll Do Monitor and analyze federal legislative and regulatory activity Draft policy summaries, advocacy materials, and member communications Support Capitol Hill and federal agency outreach Assist with meetings, fly-ins, hearings, and industry events Coordinate with member companies and coalition partners Support political engagement and PAC-related activities What We're Looking For 1-2 years of relevant experience in government relations, public policy, Congress, trade associations, or federal agencies Strong writing and communication skills Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Interest in food, trade, agriculture, sustainability, or supply chain policy Bachelor's degree Hill, agency, or trade association experience preferred.
