Job Description
Job Summary:
The Affordable Housing Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a small public housing and Housing Choice Voucher program, including approximately 50 public housing units and 20 HCV vouchers. This position is ideal for a dependable, organized self-starter who enjoys helping people, learning complex programs, solving problems, and working independently in a small-office environment. The Property Manager will work directly with applicants, residents, landlords, vendors, inspectors, and the public while ensuring that program requirements, tenant files, rent calculations, inspections, collections, and office operations are handled accurately and professionally. Because this is often a one-person office, the successful candidate must be resourceful, comfortable researching unfamiliar tasks, and willing to use available tools such as HUD guidance, policies, software systems, search engines, AI tools, and supervisor direction to learn and complete work correctly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strong computer, typing, and documentation skills are required. Frequent interaction with applicants, residents, landlords, vendors, inspectors, and the public is required. The position is primarily office-based, with some property walking, inspections, and occasional travel. Requires the ability to read, understand, and apply policies, procedures, HUD guidance, and program requirements. This position requires strong organization, accuracy, professionalism, and the ability to manage deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, take initiative, ask appropriate questions, and accept constructive feedback. Affordable housing experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate who has strong office skills, good judgment, and the ability to learn complex program requirements. Because this position operates in a one-person office approximately 75% of the time, the employee must be resourceful and able to use search engines, AI tools, HUD guidance, policies, manuals, and supervisor direction to research unfamiliar tasks and complete work accurately. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, learning new things, and taking ownership of important work in a small-office environment.Job Type:
