Qualifications:

The Ideal Candidate:

We re seeking a collaborative, results-oriented leader with experience in policy development, operations, budgeting, and cross-department coordination. Candidates with a strong background in either public safety or economic development are preferred, particularly those who have overseen these functions at a City Manager or Assistant/Deputy City Manager level. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, offering strategic insight, representing the City publicly, and building strong relationships with elected officials, staff, and community partners, while complementing the strengths of the existing Executive Leadership Team.

Minimum:

Experience in managing a variety of city operational departments A Minimum ten (10) years of municipal government experience with at least three (3) years as a City Manager, Deputy, or Assistant City Manager. Proven ability to provide strategic advice on complex policy and operational issues. Skilled in building relationships with elected officials, staff, and community partners. Bachelor s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field.

Preferred:

Master s degree in Public Administration, Business, Economic Development, or related field. Experience with Civil Service, labor relations, development services, tourism, downtown revitalization, or Type B EDCs. ICMA-CM, CPM, or similar professional certification. Preferred experience managing public safety or economic development.
