education component, ensuring field placements that align with Concordia University-Wisconsin's mission, the program's mission, CSWE
(Council on Social Work Education) accreditation standards, and student learning outcomes. This role develops and maintains community
partnerships, manages field placement processes, supports students and field instructors, and promotes program quality and compliance. The MSW Field Director has .50 release time (12 TCs per year - 12-month contract) for administrative obligations. Other responsibilities
include teaching, scholarship, and service to the MSW Program, School of Health Professions, and Concordia University-Wisconsin. Job Duties & Responsibilities Field Education Leadership & Program Management Oversee the overall administration and coordination of field education for the Master of Social Work program
Develop,
implement, and maintain field education policies, procedures, and resources (e.g., manuals, documentation, evaluation forms)
Ensure all placements meet educational standards and reflect the MSW curriculum goals and CSWE competencies
Monitor field
placement quality through regular communication and evaluation with students and agencies
Maintain Exxat
Provide
supervision and work in partnership with the Field Administrative Assistant to ensure efficient field education processes
Conduct
quarterly evaluations of the field administrative assistant
Attend yearly CSWE conference
Other duties as assigned Field Site & Community Partnerships Identify, recruit, and expand a network of potential field placement
agencies that offer varied and meaningful learning experiences
Establish and maintain affiliation agreements and manage contract
processes with community partner
Conduct site visits and meet with agency representatives to assess and approve field site
suitability
Represent the MSW Program in professional community settings to strengthen agency relationships
Provide
field instructor orientations Student Placement & Support Guide students through the field placement
process, including readiness assessment, agency matching, interview coordination, and placement confirmation
Meet individually
with students to discuss interests, goals, and learning needs as part of placement planning
Monitor students' progress in field
placements and assist in resolving issues or conflicts when they arise
Facilitate orientations for students entering the field
experience Field Instructor Recruitment & Development Recruit qualified field instructors that meet
credential requirements and develop orientation/training opportunities
Provide orientation, support, guidance, and ongoing
communication to field instructors to enhance placement success Assessment, Accreditation & Reporting Participate in program assessment and data collection for continuous improvement of field education practices
Support MSW
accreditation processes related to field education (e.g., documentation, evaluation, self-study contributions)
Maintain
recordkeeping for student placements, evaluations, and compliance requirements. Teaching Teach Field
Courses
Assist MSW Director in recruiting adjuncts to teach field
Support field adjuncts with course delivery Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Effective interpersonal and supervisor
skills in recruitment, performance management, and coaching/counseling;
Professional decorum and ethical decision-making;
Demonstrated superior communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia
University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education & Experience MSW from a CSWE accredited program with at least five years post MSW
direct social work experience;
Experience in higher education is preferred, which includes teaching, program development, and/or
administrative, especially experience with the CSWE accreditation standards;
Experience serving as Field Coordinator
preferred;
Demonstrated commitment to the profession of social work, social work education (including CSWE accreditation) and to
serving marginalized populations, in addition, exemplify the core values of the profession as specified in the Social Work Code of Ethics as
