Contract Job #311819 Description We are a leading diversified full-service manufacturing company in the greater Los Angeles area serving the Aviation and Defense industries since 1979. We provide our customers with unparalleled service and support through experienced and skilled staff. Customer service is our priority. Job Functions The General Purchasing Assistant will perform entry-level purchasing functions and assist purchasing personnel in the efficient procurement of goods and services: Review requisitions and develop specifications to support competitive procurement of non-complex items Solicit written and telephone quotations from vendors Expedite deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials Verify availability of budgeted funds for specific products and projects Assist in maintaining procurement documentation in a systematic and auditable manner Maintain acceptable attendance as an essential function of the role Perform other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel Knowledge of organizational operations, functions, and information handling processes Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees across departments Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Minimum of one year of clerical experience in a purchasing or business-related environment
Position Requirements Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent Purchasing experience
Preferred Experience:
Aerospace supply chain experience Understanding of a Quality Management System
