Job Description

United Medical Imaging Position Summary:
The successful Purchasing Assistant is quality driven and detail oriented. This role assists the Purchasing Manager with daily project administrative tasks so that they can spend their time on operations and strategic development with an aim towards resolving current and future order issues. The Purchasing Assistant compiles and sends purchase orders after Purchasing Manager reviews and approves. This role verifies orders are received by vendors and processed. The Purchasing Assistant compiles acknowledgements for Purchasing Manager's review and actively manages all administrative tasks to assist Purchasing Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ordering:
Placing orders for products and materials, and selecting vendors Following up: Ensuring that orders are shipped and delivered on time, and contacting vendors about discrepancies Maintaining records: Keeping track of purchases, shipments, and supplier contracts
Researching:
Conducting market research to find the best products, prices, and suppliers
Tracking:
Tracking shipments from manufacturing locations to retail stores or company warehouses
Communicating:
Communicating with staff and vendors
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication skills Ability to learn and apply purchasing and inventory control practices Ability to meet schedules and time lines Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships Ability to perform computer data entry, storage, and retrieval Experience /
Education:
One to two(1-2) years of purchasing experience is a must. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat are required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent experience desired.
