Job Description

Job Description - Window/Door Purchaser The Window & Garage Door Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of windows, garage doors, and related materials. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of products while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Order Management:
Coordinate with Production Team to ensure we have enough stock material week to week. Place, track, match, and approve purchase orders in a timely manner Ensure we have deposits or financing secured prior to placing any orders. This may require you to take payments and follow-up with sales rep/customer to obtain the deposit or full payment for Costco when one has not been provided. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for deliveries
Vendor & Supplier Relations:
Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new opportunities. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues regarding quality or delivery.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
Buying power - staying up to date with price increases, purchasing items in bulk as needed, department head will coordinate this with you
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with sales, operations, and installation teams to understand material needs. Communicate with production team regarding product availability and lead times. Provide recommendations on product selection and alternative sourcing when needed. General Department Support -
Secondary Role:
As time allows and when available, provide general administrative support to the department and assist with daily tasks and operations as they pertain to the position. Assist with administrative duties, organization, documentation, scheduling, follow-up, and other department-related tasks as needed. Support the department head and team with operational needs to help maintain an efficient and organized workflow. The primary focus of this position remains purchasing; general department support will be performed as workload and availability permit.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in construction, building materials, or a related field. Knowledge of windows, garage doors, and associated materials is a plus. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Ability to analyze costs, trends, and supplier performance. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
