Buyer - Purchasing

Overview This is technical, administrative working with complex procurement and assigned projects. The incumbent in this position is responsible for procuring goods and services on behalf of the Seminole Tribe of Florida in adherence to STOF purchasing policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for the procurement of a variety of assigned commodity groups and services, including the review of electronic requisitions, preparation of bid documents, conducting pre-bid conferences, analysis of bid responses and preparation of purchase orders. Duties may include acting as lead worker in assigning and supervising the work of a Buyer I. The employee may supervise subordinate professionals as delegated by an administrative superior. Work requires exercising considerable independent judgment in resolving problems and issues relative to vendors, performing technical research and preparing reports, and reconciling departmental purchase requests and requirements. High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a governmental centralized purchasing operation area, or prior experience working in a purchasing department is required; or any equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience will be considered. Knowledge and understanding of inventory/purchase order management processes and the ability to multi task across geographical locations is required. Experience with Lawson Financial Management system is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and able to travel to all Seminole Reservations. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
