Purchasing Associate Position Summary A Purchasing Associate is responsible for routine and impromptu purchases made by the company from its vendors. This includes the duties of preparing and processing purchase orders or purchase requests, keeping record of purchases, and keeping vendor information up to date. Purchasing Associate Essential Job Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Responsible for the purchase of goods and services company-wide. Search for potential new vendors, evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices. Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, products) Track orders and ensure timely delivery Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders Reconciles POs and RONs to submit them to the Finance Department. Communicate with the companies to request any necessary documentation to process return. Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition and are accordingly distributed throughout the company Keep track of all the purchases (made by the purchasing department) on daily basis and reported to finance department. Required Education and Experience High School or Technical school education At least one-year related experience Experience in negotiating prices with vendors, requesting and reviewing proposals/quotes for goods. Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience IND1
