This entry-level role plays a key part in ensuring that materials and supplies are ordered and received on time to meet production needs. It's ideal for someone starting their career in procurement or supply chain. Essential Functions

• Issue of purchase orders based on approved requisitions and inventory levels.
• Follow up with suppliers to confirm order details and delivery timelines.
• Assist in maintaining purchasing records and vendor files.
• Track shipments and work with receiving and inventory teams to ensure materials are properly received and recorded.
• Resolve basic order discrepancies or delays with vendors.
• Support cost comparisons and vendor quotes for basic items or supplies.
• Help monitor stock levels and notify the team of potential shortages.
• Assist in updating ERP or purchasing systems with current order and pricing information.
• Provide administrative support to the procurement team as needed. Skills and Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework or certification in business, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
• 1-2 years of purchasing, inventory, or administrative experience (preferred, not required).
• Basic understanding of purchasing or inventory processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP system experience a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment This position is located in a food manufacturing facility and involves working in areas that may be cold, hot, humid, or noisy. The environment includes exposure to strong food odors, allergens, and moving equipment. Employees must follow strict sanitation and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work may take place on wet or slippery surfaces. Schedules may include overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs. Physical Demands The physical requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:

Standing/Walking:

Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, often on concrete or other hard surfaces.
