Job Description

Purchasing Assistant Job Description The purchasing agent is responsible for the procurement of products to support functions of the facility. Responsibilities include submitting and reviewing purchase orders, ensuring prompt product delivery, and acting as a liaison between vendors and various departments within the company. Responsibilities Create purchase orders and obtain quotes based on requests from sales, customer service, and production Work closely with vendors to coordinate deliveries, track invoices, etc. Regularly check on the status of orders and past due items Communicate with various departments regarding product allocation, expected delivery dates, and sourcing options Return damaged or incorrect products to the vendors and file claims with freight forwarders when necessary Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships Perform related work as assigned by purchasing manger Job Requirements 2 years of procurement experience using standard purchasing methods and procedures in a manufacturing environment Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers Experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, and standard ERP systems Attention to detail Problem solving skills Communicate effectively in written and verbal form Ability to multitask and divert to other projects at a moment's notice Organizational skills Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, good judgment, decision making, and appropriate levels of assertiveness and ambition Education and Experience High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred Job Type Full-Time M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
