$60k-$75k Guerdon is the leading manufacturer of large-scale, multi-story modular buildings for the multifamily, hospitality, workforce housing, student housing, and assisted living markets. Proudly made in the USA at our facility in Boise, Idaho, we serve clients across the Western United States and Canada. With 25 years of experience and 250 completed projects, our projects are custom-built to meet local codes, client specifications, and architectural design requirements. The Buyer for Doors is responsible for purchasing and coordinating the delivery of doors and related materials required for Guerdon's manufacturing operations. This position works closely with Production, Estimating, Project Management, and vendors to ensure the correct doors are ordered, delivered on schedule, and meet project specifications. This is an entry-level purchasing position that provides an opportunity to develop purchasing, vendor management, and construction material knowledge. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and specifications, and able to communicate effectively with both internal teams and suppliers. Purchasing and Order Management Review project requirements and production schedules to determine door purchasing needs. Prepare and issue purchase orders for doors and related materials. Verify quantities, sizes, styles, finishes, ratings, hardware requirements, and other specifications prior to placing orders. Monitor purchase orders to ensure materials are delivered according to required production schedules. Track order status, lead times, backorders, and changes. Communicate delivery updates and potential delays to appropriate internal departments. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Supplier and Vendor Coordination Communicate with door manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, specifications, and delivery. Develop positive working relationships with vendors and serve as a primary point of contact for assigned door purchases. Request and compare vendor quotes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions. Assist with resolving incorrect, damaged, or incomplete orders. Coordinate returns, replacements, credits, and other vendor issues as needed. Maintain current vendor and product information. Project and Production Support Review project documents, schedules, and material requirements to identify door needs. Work with internal teams to clarify specifications and resolve discrepancies before orders are placed. Coordinate purchasing schedules with the Factory Production Schedule. Monitor material requirements to ensure doors are available when needed for production. Assist with identifying potential material shortages or lead-time concerns before they impact production. Maintain organized records of project-specific purchasing information. Inventory and Returns Monitor door inventory and anticipated project requirements. Assist with identifying excess, damaged, or unused materials. Coordinate vendor returns and replacement materials. Maintain accurate documentation for returns, credits, and material dispositionsRequirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant college coursework preferred.
- 2 years of purchasing, administrative, construction, manufacturing, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Experience with doors, building materials, construction, or manufacturing is helpful but not required.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to learn ERP and procurement systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately work with numbers, measurements, and product specifications.
- Must have reliable transportation and stellar attendance.
- Ability to work on-site during regular business hours of 8-5 M-F.

Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
- Light to moderately lifting is required.
- Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
