Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our procurement team. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department by maintaining accurate records of purchases and communicating deliveries. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
Create and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures. Track orders and ensure timely delivery by coordinating with suppliers and buyers. Maintain accurate records of purchases. Resolve any discrepancies in orders. Assist buyers as needed with evaluating suppliers and updating score cards. Assist buyers as needed in negotiating pricing with suppliers. Handle administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork, organizing documentation, and preparing reports. Collaborate with other departments to ensure purchasing processes meet organizational needs.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Coordinator, or Office Manager. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management procedures. Knowledge of purchasing in manufacturing is a plus.
Benefits:

Location & Commitments :
Permanent full-time role based in Dixon, IL Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm
