Job Description
Purchaser - Construction Build something that matters,starting with how projects come together. At Anning-Johnson / Anson Industries, our work doesn't happen without the right materials, at the right time, in the right place. That's where you come in. We're looking for a Purchaser who thrives in a fast-moving environment and takes ownership of getting things done. This role sits at the center of our operations—partnering with project teams, working directly with vendors, and making sure everything needed to execute the job is lined up and delivered. If you're someone who likes solving problems, staying organized, and being a key part of the team behind the scenes, this is a role where you'll make a real impact every day. What You'll Be Doing You'll own the purchasing process from start to finish—making sure our jobs have what they need, when they need it. Source and secure materials and equipment for active construction projects Build and manage vendor relationships—negotiating pricing, timelines, and terms Create and manage purchase orders with accuracy and urgency Track inventory and stay ahead of material needs Coordinate deliveries to job sites and keep projects moving Keep documentation tight—shipping, receiving, and inventory records Partner closely with project teams to align on schedules and priorities Troubleshoot issues quickly—whether it's a delay, shortage, or vendor concern What You Bring 10+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in construction or a related field Experience working in an ERP system (COINS strongly preferred) Strong instincts for organization, follow-through, and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing momentum Confidence working with vendors and negotiating effectively Familiarity with inventory and material tracking processes Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel Ability to read construction drawings is a plus Strong communication skills; Spanish is a plus Why This Role You'll be a critical part of project execution, not just behind the scenes You'll work with experienced teams that value responsiveness and accountability You'll have the opportunity to grow and make an immediate impact Salary range is $68,000 to $92,000 (based on education and experience) with generous bonus!
