Purchasing Clerk Hurco Companies Inc - 3.4 Indianapolis, IN Job Details 14 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Full Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement and inventory operations. This role is responsible for creating purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Create and process purchase orders with accurate quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules. Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate safety stock to support production needs. Manage day-to-day vendor relationships, including lead times, quotations, purchase order updates, delivery schedules, returns, and documentation issues. Collaborate closely with service and production teams to validate material and inventory requirements. Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and received goods. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Assist in tracking supplier performance and delivery timelines. Support continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing and inventory processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred, with a minimum of one year of relevant purchasing or supply chain experience. Manufacturing experience is a plus. Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Preferred Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience working with MRP systems, including D365 or Axapta. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team. Positive, professional attitude and customer-focused mindset. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
