College Store Assistant Buyer
Position SummaryPosition Summary:
This part time position is responsible for maintaining appropriate general merchandise stock levels, assisting with placing reorders as necessary and acting as the point of contact for special orders. This position will be a key holder backup to store management for opening and closing of the store. Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:1. Maintain appropriate stock levels.2. Assist in the selection of soft goods (clothing, gift, snacks, etc.).3. Assist customers online, in person and by telephone with special orders.4. Communicate a knowledge of products to customers.5. Assist with store opening and closing as necessary.6. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required Minimum Qualifications 1. High School Diploma/GED 2. One (1) year of experience working in a retail environment 3. One (1) year of experience with the planning and selection of soft goods lines (clothing, gift, snacks, etc.) Desired Qualifications 1. Associate Degree 2. Experience negotiating with vendors 3. Experience providing superior customer service 4. Experience using online ordering portals
