This full-time, salaried position plays an important role in helping maintain product availability and planning, retail store and vendor communication, and timely follow-through in a fast-paced retail lumber and home improvement corporate office. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working with numbers, reports, and deadlines and also communicating daily with store personnel and vendors. This person should be able to communicate clearly, take direction from the Buyer/Lead Buyer, prioritize competing tasks, and maintain a professional attitude while supporting the needs of the buying team and store operations. Key Responsibilities Assist the Buyer with daily purchasing activities, product research, vendor communication, and administrative follow-up. Help review product information, pricing, inventory levels, purchase orders, and sales data to support buying decisions. Prepare, maintain, and update spreadsheets, reports, product files, and purchasing records using Microsoft Excel and Word. Communicate professionally with vendors, store personnel, internal departments, and owners as needed. Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and help ensure purchasing tasks are completed accurately and on time. Support product setup, pricing updates, promotional planning, and related documentation. Review information for accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies related to orders, pricing, invoices, or product details. Handle multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail. Provide excellent internal and external customer service while representing the company in a positive and professional manner. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Strong multi-tasking, organization, and follow-through skills. Positive and professional attitude. Responsible, reliable, and dependable. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Strong customer service skills. College degree preferred.
