Non -Exempt Job Summary The Purchasing Clerk will support the business and purchasing department activities by ordering supplies and raw materials. This position report directly to the purchasing Manager Duties/Responsibilities
  • Prepare purchase orders
  • Keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders
  • Monitor inventory, perform buying duties when necessary, and contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries.
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, and calculate relevant costs
  • Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
  • Establishes and maintains recordkeeping system for purchasing department.
  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities
  • Effective organizational and detailed oriented skills
  • Experience providing effective customer service
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Educational Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of clerical experience preferred. Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
