Butter Beans seeks like minded individuals to support our commissary kitchen team. This position of production Manager reports to the Commissary Director.

Long Island City, Queens Responsibilities:
Oversees all daily food production operations within a high-volume commissary, ensuring products are prepared safely, consistently, and on schedule to meet multi-unit distribution needs.
  • This role leads and develops a cross-functional team, plans and optimizes production schedules, manages inventory and procurement, and enforces strict food safety, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
  • Standardize recipes, control yields, and drive continuous improvement in cost, labor, and waste.
Responsibilities include maintaining equipment readiness in coordination with maintenance, monitoring KPIs (throughput, scrap, labor efficiency, on-time fulfillment), and implementing SOPs for scaling, batching, packaging, labeling, and cold-chain integrity.
Requirements:
  • Food Handlers Card from the New York Department of Health is required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; proven expertise with ERP or production planning systems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer specifications.
  • Candidates must have at least five (5) years of experience in a commissary environment
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish) (Salary will be paid based off experience)
