Job Description
Arclight Dynamics, a division of the Piranha Fabrication family of brands, is a leading manufacturer of precision CNC plasma cutting systems used by fabrication and manufacturing businesses around the world. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Bend, Arclight Dynamics is a rapidly growing company known for innovation, customer service, and American manufacturing excellence. We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist / Assistant Buyer to join our growing operations team. This position plays a critical role in supporting production, inventory management, vendor relationships, and supply chain coordination across our fabrication and assembly departments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, communicates effectively, takes initiative, and enjoys solving problems while keeping operations running efficiently. Position ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Inventory Management Purchase materials, components, and supplies necessary for fabrication and assembly operations Maintain appropriate inventory levels using min/max inventory management and just-in-time purchasing strategies Analyze system reports and inventory trends to forecast purchasing needs Create, manage, and track purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing records Monitor delivery schedules and proactively communicate delays or supply chain issues Vendor & Logistics Coordination Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers Monitor vendor performance including pricing, lead times, responsiveness, and quality Communicate real-time order status updates to internal teams Coordinate with third-party logistics providers regarding shipments, receiving, tracking, and delivery timelines Assist in resolving freight, receiving, invoice, or inventory discrepancies in a timely manner Cross-Functional Support Work closely with the Purchasing & Logistics Manager to support department operations Collaborate with warehouse staff to reconcile deliveries against purchase orders Assist Accounts Payable with invoice matching and discrepancy resolution Maintain organized records for accounting reconciliation and audit purposes Assist with scheduling vendor meetings and maintaining departmental calendars Support office operations through ordering office supplies and coordinating urgent procurement needs Assist with warehouse, logistics, inventory control, and customer support projects as needed Qualifications & Requirements 2+ years of purchasing, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, or related experience preferred Supply Chain Management education or equivalent professional experience is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively High level of initiative and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with changing priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, ERP, or MRP systems is highly desirable Basic accounting knowledge related to purchasing and accounts payable preferred General technical proficiency with software, hardware, and internet-based systems Motivated, goal-oriented, and dependable Punctual and reliable Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
