As an Assistant Buyer, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of specific merchandise departments. You'll help ensure merchandise arrives on time and meets the expectations of our guests by working closely with vendors, our Distribution Center, and the Merchant Team. Using your keen sense of fashion and merchandising knowledge you will help support DXL's mission by: Assisting in preparing for pre-market analysis and Style-Out meetings Maintaining clear communication across departments including Direct Merchandising, Global Sourcing, and Marketing Organizing and preparing product samples for merchandising reviews and maintaining sample rooms Collaborating with vendors and attending presentations alongside Associate Buyers and Buyers Creating and overseeing purchase orders with accuracy and efficiency Preparing and analyzing weekly business reports, identifying top and bottom performers, and contributing to strategy discussions Monitoring daily sales performance and help develop strategies to impact current business trend Partnering with Merchandise Managers/Buyers in competitive shopping, internet research, retail price analysis and gathering market intelligence We're looking for someone with: A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Retail experience is a plus, especially in buying, planning, or merchandising Experience working with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel A proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across diverse teams Here's what we offer: All Your Basic Benefits (health, dental, 401k, PTO, etc.) Hybrid Work Environment Compressed/Flexible Work Schedule Bring Your Dog to Work Days And more! The hiring range for this position is $52,500 - $60,000. While the compensation within the posted range will vary based on experience, skill set, and internal equity, it is uncommon for new hires to be placed at the top of the range.
