Job Description
Job Details Description The Purchasing Associate is a purchasing professional that acts as the intermediary between sales, purchasing and suppliers in the form of product delivered on time or providing the best solutions to meet the needs of the sales team and customers. Essential Functions Provide excellent customer service to the sales team by acting as the intermediary between sales, purchasing, and our suppliers Set up new vendors, send out new vendor packets, and track in log Maintain files, records, correspondence, reports, and data bases used by the purchasing department Contact suppliers for shipping data information on a daily bases based on assignments through the Expedite Center, may include weekly phone meetings, when deemed needed Update the Expedite Center with due date information on a daily basis Problem solve "on-time" part delivery (on time being defined as meeting the customer due date) Provide options and solutions to the sales teams and the customer and initiate actions necessary to resolve problems that arise Assist with Switchboard coverage when necessary All other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Basic/intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Excellent problem solving skills Telephone etiquette Organizational and time management skills Written and verbal communication skills Proficient typing skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established expectations Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in customer service and/or administrative or purchasing support preferred
