Job Requirements:
Sourcing, ordering, and managing parts, materials, and services critical to maintaining fleet uptime and operational efficiency. This role works closely with maintenance leadership, technicians, and vendors to ensure the right parts are available at the right time—minimizing downtime and supporting safe, reliable equipment across the fleet.
Job Duties:
Procure parts, components, tools, and services to support fleet maintenance operations, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery expectations Prioritize and expedite critical parts to minimize equipment downtime and keep equipment on the road Maintain strong vendor relationships with parts suppliers, dealerships, and service providers Monitor inventory levels and manage reorder points for high-usage and critical components Collaborate daily with technicians and maintenance leadership to anticipate parts needs and upcoming repairs Source alternative parts and vendors when shortages or delays arise Track and communicate supply chain issues that may impact fleet availability Support and continuously improve inventory management systems and processes Ensure accurate entry of parts, purchase orders, and inventory transactions in company systems (TMW/TMT or equivalent) Analyze pricing and conduct regular cost comparisons to ensure competitive purchasing Assist in warranty tracking and returns process for defective parts Manage shop-related programs (uniforms, supplies, consumables) in coordination with HR and operations Prepare reports related to parts usage, spend, and inventory performance Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost control, efficiency, and uptime Embrace and support the FLASH mission, with a strong focus on safety and operational excellence Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience in purchasing, parts coordination, or inventory management—preferably in trucking, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment, or diesel repair environments Working knowledge of truck/trailer parts, maintenance workflows, and shop operations Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Computer skills required: Microsoft Office and Windows-based programs. Position must become familiar with the TMW/TMT fleet management system. Position reports to Purchasing Manager The above list is not an all-inclusive list of duties and/or requirements. Wage Range:
20.00 - 25.00 per hour
