Purchasing Technician Responsibilities:
- Accountable for maintaining stock items that contribute to producing a quality product.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor or shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size or type of material.
- Fills orders or issues supplies from stockroom and distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
- Marks identifying code, figures or letters on articles.
- Performs cycle count procedures to verify SAP inventory quantities for selected items.
- Utilizes data to determine conforming product. Analyzes and monitors scrap and nonconforming parts to aid in determining cause of failure.
- Keeps stockroom cleaned and maintains stockroom and contents in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Enters and records data into various systems this may include but not limited to items on purchase order, delivery schedule, invoice and other records.
- Reviews MRO stock usage and makes recommendations to change re-order point or maximum quantity.
- Receive, store and distributes material, supplies, merchandise, tools and equipment as required.
- Must read, interpret and follow all safety rules and regulations while performing operations.
Purchasing Technician:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- Experience entering and managing data in systems (ERP/SAP preferred), including purchase orders, invoices, and stock records
- Ability to track, organize, and maintain accurate inventory levels, including cycle counting and stock verification
- Understanding of receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment
