RATE OF PAY
$23.56 hourly plus a comprehensive benefits package to include membership in the Arizona State Retirement System.

NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision, performs administrative and financial work of moderate difficulty that support Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, and Detention Screening and Transport; performs related duties as assigned.

TYPICAL DUTIES
(Illustrative Only) Serves as accounting/administrative support for the administrative finance division manager and department director, administers departmental accounting utilizing a computerized system; procurement; budget maintenance, and accounts/payable/receivable processes; ; initiates collection actions to include possible property liens or wage garnishments; prepares and processes juvenile and adult restitution orders; monitors current and past due accounts; maintains collection files and records; makes all department purchases; acts as purchasing card liaison; tracks and maintains capital assets; acts as department Fleet Liaison; Coject/Training Coordinator; internal onboarding policy trainer; records retention; oversees special projectsAssociate degree in accounting, business administration, or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education; and two (2) years increasingly responsible budget/accounting experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved may be considered.
Considerable knowledge of:
office equipment and software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; office administration, accounting, ledger account reconciliation practices, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); records management.
Considerable skill in:
self-control, patience, initiative, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy; operating a computer to enter and retrieve information; business English and communication skills.
Ability to:
prepare/maintain financial records in appropriate filing systems, including compliance with record retention schedules; maintain confidentiality of all information as designated; develop and maintain effective working relationships with others; communicate effectively in writing and orally with a diverse group of individuals; establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public as well as internal and external departments/agencies; perform accurate mathematical computations; prepare and maintain accurate financial records/ budget; coordinate accounting/administrative processes with internal and external financial departments/agencies; perform clerical work of advanced nature; follow written and verbal instructions. exercise independent good judgment and make sound decisions in accordance with office policies and procedures; prioritize and plan workload while carrying through to completion in compliance with time limits and deadlines; travel between offices in Cochise County; read, write, and speak English; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: Essential functions of this position require: lifting up to 25 pounds, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, ability to communicate.
Sedentary work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time, walking and standing are required, and all sedentary criteria are met.
