Surgery Scheduler

Urology office is seeking surgery scheduler for busy office. Surgery Scheduler will perform various routine clerical tasks, primarily dealing with all surgeries; handles insurance inquiries; verifies eligibility, submits authorizations, schedules surgery time with hospital and pre op clearances prior to surgery dates. Works closely with physician regarding all scheduling issues e.g. block times, scheduling changes, and special equipment. Maintains positive relationships with patients, family members and all other personnel of hospitals and other physician offices. Collaborates with hospital scheduling team to ensure that all procedures and hospital admission requests are completed. Communicates effectively with patients as to surgery times, and any other surgery matters needing explanation.

Required skills:

Knowledge of EMR, good organizational skills, good telephone and communications skills, knowledge of HMO and PPO Insurance, front office experience. Bilingual Spanish Preferred.
