Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Permit Expeditor to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will serve as the key liaison between project teams, government agencies, and permitting authorities to ensure timely acquisition of all necessary permits for construction activities. Your expertise will help streamline the approval process, mitigate delays, and keep projects on track. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, and possesses a strong understanding of construction processes, project management software, and regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects by facilitating efficient permit procurement and supporting overall project success. Duties Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and design teams to gather all required documentation for permit applications. Track permit application statuses and follow up regularly with permitting agencies to expedite approvals. Prepare and submit permit packages using construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, or Primavera P6. Maintain detailed records of permits issued, pending applications, and correspondence with regulatory bodies. Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations before submission. Assist in managing contract documentation related to permits and regulatory approvals. Collaborate with project teams to develop schedules that incorporate permit timelines and ensure alignment with overall project milestones. Stay informed about changes in building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements affecting construction permits. Support project coordination efforts by providing updates on permit status during meetings and reporting on potential delays or issues. Experience Proven experience in construction permitting or expediting within small to large-scale construction projects. Familiarity with construction estimating, project scheduling, and construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam and Primavera P6. Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning laws, contracts, and regulatory processes related to construction permits. Hands-on experience with construction site operations and understanding of construction workflows. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability in project coordination and communication across multiple stakeholders including government agencies and internal teams. Prior experience utilizing project management tools for tracking permit progress and maintaining documentation accuracy is highly preferred.
