Job Description
Position Summary The Production Scheduler is responsible for day‑to‑day scheduling and coordination of production activities in Mission Bell Mfg.'s custom millwork manufacturing environment. This role focuses on work order release, job sequencing, and execution support to ensure efficient production flow, accurate workflow progression, and on-time delivery of customer projects. The Production Scheduler works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shop Supervision to balance backlog, material availability, labor capacity, and shop constraints using Innergy ERP and supporting scheduling tools. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on awarded projects, customer priorities, material lead times, labor availability, and shop capacity. Release, sequence, and manage work orders through all production workflow stages in Innergy, from engineering release through fabrication, finishing, and delivery. Monitor work‑in‑progress (WIP) and job milestones to ensure work orders progress according to schedule and critical dates. Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, or delays related to materials, labor, engineering, or equipment constraints and coordinate resolution with appropriate teams. Adjust schedules dynamically in response to change orders, rework, material shortages, equipment downtime, or shifting project priorities. Communicate clear production priorities and schedule updates to shop leadership, project managers, engineering, and purchasing. Maintain accurate scheduling data, planned start dates, milestones, and status updates within Innergy ERP and supporting Excel tools. Support capacity planning efforts by analyzing shop load, available labor, and upcoming backlog. Participate in production and coordination meetings to review schedule status, constraints, and upcoming work. Assist with reporting related to schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and production performance metrics. Follow Mission Bell's established standard work, quality requirements, and safety practices. Qualifications Required 2-3+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or coordination in a manufacturing environment. Experience with work‑order‑based scheduling and managing jobs across multiple production steps. Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Innergy experience preferred). Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for scheduling, tracking, and reporting. Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally between the office and shop floor. Preferred Experience in custom millwork, architectural woodworking, or casework manufacturing . Familiarity with engineered drawings, routings, and bills of materials (BOMs). Experience supporting continuous improvement or production efficiency initiatives. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This role operates in both an office and manufacturing shop environment. Regular presence on the production floor to coordinate schedules and review job status. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods. Exposure to typical shop conditions, including noise, dust, and machinery when on the floor. Compensation & Compliance This is a non‑union position . Compensation is determined based on experience and responsibility level and complies with California wage and pay transparency requirements .
