OVERVIEW
The Production Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules in a medical device manufacturing environment using Epicor. This role ensures efficient production flow, on-time delivery, and alignment between customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
POSITION SUMMARY / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules in Epicor, balancing customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity. Translate customer orders and demand forecasts into actionable production plans aligned with operational priorities. Monitor production progress and proactively adjust schedules to address delays, shortages, bottlenecks, or capacity constraints. Coordinate closely with Production, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Planning teams to ensure timely availability of materials, labor, and equipment. Analyze production data, capacity utilization, and workflow to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date production schedules, revisions, and status updates within Epicor. Optimize utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and support cost control initiatives. Communicate production schedules, priorities, and changes clearly across departments to ensure alignment and execution. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and shortages. Identify, escalate, and help mitigate production risks, constraints, and disruptions; support contingency planning efforts. Ensure all scheduling and planning activities comply with FDA, ISO, and GMP requirements. Support production reporting, KPI tracking (e.g., on-time delivery, throughput, capacity utilization), forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of production scheduling or planning experience, preferably in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Epicor Kinetic or a similar ERP system required. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities. Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations preferred.
