In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and providers, managing appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and insurance verifications with professionalism and care. Your proactive approach will ensure efficient clinic operations, enhance patient experience, and support the overall success of our healthcare services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your administrative expertise in a fast-paced medical environment. Responsibilities Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with courteous and professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately. Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring all documentation aligns with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with clinical staff to manage appointment availability and rescheduling needs efficiently. Maintain organized filing of medical records and correspondence while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Experience:
Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially in a front desk or medical receptionist role. Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette and clear communication abilities. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual skills are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations.
Pay:
$19.00 per hour
