Project Controls Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our engineering project controls team. In this role, you will take ownership of planning, developing, and managing project schedules across complex EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) projects. This is a newly created position — the right candidate will help establish scheduling best practices and become a foundational contributor to how our team manages project timelines and performance. This role is well-suited for a self-directed professional who is equally comfortable building structure from the ground up and collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and oversee comprehensive, resource-loaded project schedules for EPCM projects using Primavera P6 Integrate engineering, procurement, and construction activities into a single unified project timeline Identify critical paths and scheduling risks; propose and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track Perform schedule risk analysis, monitor project progress, and flag potential delays early with recommended corrective actions Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and track Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and related metrics Develop schedule impact assessments to support contract negotiations, change orders, and claims Collaborate with project stakeholders to establish milestones, deliverables, and realistic timelines Generate and distribute weekly and monthly progress reports for internal teams and external clients Establish and document scheduling best practices, standards, and procedures for the department Lead and participate in schedule review meetings; prepare presentation materials for stakeholders Monitor material lead times and procurement deliveries to ensure alignment with the project schedule Support baseline schedule development in coordination with cross-functional project disciplines Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience Minimum 4-6 years of project scheduling experience, preferably on EPCM or large-scale engineering/construction projects Proficiency in Primavera P6 (required) Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), progress tracking, and delay analysis Knowledge of AACE Schedule Levels of Detail and resource loading methodologies Demonstrated ability to manage schedules across multiple project phases simultaneously Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present schedule data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications Experience building out a scheduling function or establishing department-wide best practices Familiarity with MS Project or other scheduling platforms in addition to P6 Background in engineering and construction processes, cost forecasting, or project controls Experience in client-facing scheduling roles with direct stakeholder communication PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) or similar AACE certification Work Environment This is a primarily office-based role with standard business hours. The work environment is professional and collaborative, with regular interaction across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines. Occasional project site visits or travel may be required depending on active project needs.
