Job Description

Scheduling Specialist Schedule:

The Scheduling Specialist is responsible for: Accurately creating authorizations for external specialty visits and ordered services for assigned participants Tracking medical provider orders to ensure completion for authorization Scheduling medical appointments once authorization is processed and rescheduling cancelled or missed appointments. Collaborating with transportation and home care to ensure participants have rides and companions for appointments as needed. What is PACE? PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 180 PACE programs, serving more than 80,700 participants in 33 states. The number of people aged 55+ is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise.
You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 2 years experience with transportation, medical appointments, or home care scheduling is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Effective and respectful communication both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional circumstances. Knowledge of Medical Terminology. Ability to set priorities and follow through. Effectively work with and build relationships with others. Attention to detail; accuracy in all work. Proficient with EMR and Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
