Surgical Coordinator (Insurance & Hospital Scheduling)

Busy, well-established plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery practice seeking a detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join our team. This is a hands-on role with meaningful responsibility and growth , focused primarily on insurance-based reconstructive surgery and hospital scheduling . •This is NOT a cosmetic-only coordinator role. Candidates must be comfortable working with insurance authorizations, medical necessity, and hospital systems . We are looking for someone with insurance experience who wants to grow into a full surgical coordinator role. Structured training will be provided, with increasing responsibility over time. Responsibilities Obtain and manage insurance prior authorizations (primary focus) Coordinate hospital-based surgical scheduling and documentation Obtain and track pre-operative medical clearances (PCP, cardiology, etc.) Prepare and submit complete surgical packets Maintain accurate scheduling for both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures Communicate with patients, hospitals, and insurance companies Use CPT and ICD-10 coding to support authorization accuracy Requirements Experience in insurance verification or prior authorization (REQUIRED) Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding (preferred) Experience using insurance portals (e.g., Availity or similar) Experience in a surgical or specialty medical office preferred Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn hospital-based surgical coordination Additional Notes Candidates with cosmetic-only surgery coordinator experience (cash-pay only) will not be a fit for this position. Pay:

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
