Barr-Nunn Transportation LLC, a premier truckload carrier in business for over 43 years, is currently hiring for Operations Assistant to join our team in Granger, IA. The Operations Assistant position will be assisting Operations, outside carriers, drivers with loads as well as dealing with EDI processes. They will communicate necessary information to other departments and/or customers. See full list of responsibilities below. We are looking for candidates that have a strong sense of initiative, solid communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. They should be able to "think on their feet" and have a knack for problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have experience working in customer service and will be comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced office setting. They should also be comfortable working on a computer and navigating between several systems/programs at one time.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 7:00am

• 4:30pm, and a 4 hour shift every 4th weekend

Education and Experience:

• Four year degree in Transportation/Logistics preferred but not necessary
• 1-2 years experience in the transportation field preferred but not necessary

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Provide information in a timely manner to Load Coordinators and Planners
• Learn EDI processes
• Maintain hours of service
• Track and trace all drivers to maintain on time delivery
• Assist with late reason codes
• Answer emails
• Dispatching drivers
