What You Will Do:
The College Operations Coordinator for NLU's National College of Education has the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the college by assisting and supporting the office of the dean, school directors, and college faculty. This position is required to be on campus 4-5 days a week to support the needs of the College and College Leadership. Essential Responsibilities Performs administrative support as necessary for the NCE Core Leadership by creating/editing written and electronic correspondence, arranging meetings, taking minutes, editing reports, preparing and distributing agendas and/or minutes, etc. Assists with such tasks as preparing accreditation and/or licensing documentation for
IBHE, ISBE, CAEP, HLC, SPA
Reports, etc. Provides required assistance for and at NCE-sponsored internal and external events and for NCE publications such as NCE FastNotes. Supports accreditation and assessment processes and helps maintain compliance with the university calendar, in consultation with program leadership and the dean's office. Provides and maintains all record keeping on behalf of the NCE Academic Programs and Directors, including all electronic files, reports, grant applications and regulations, and all records of external and internal meetings. Provides advanced assistance to college and program leadership in preparation for meetings on and off campus and electronically, including all College and Program Advisory Boards. Proactively assists with report writing, program handbook updates, gathering data, preparing presentations, charts, summaries, and analysis. Keeps track and submits Professional Development credits (CEUs) for ISBE. Manages the database and sends an accountability report to ISBE. Updates all NCE program web pages in coordination with the appropriate units. Assist new faculty with onboarding, including help with getting office keys, supplies, and how to get computers, hardware, etc. Performs administrative support as necessary, answering and directing incoming college and program calls/emails and student inquiries to the appropriate person. Qualifications High School Diplomat/GED Required Minimum of 1 year of experience in related administrative support, preferably in higher education/university Proven track record for effectively prioritizing tasks, uses schedules well, anticipates what needs to be done and completes work efficiently. Experience with a variety of technology tools including: Google, Microsoft Office, Zoom, calendars, shared drives and learns new technology quickly.
