Job Description

Rapid Prototyping and Engineering is growing and currently seeking an Operations Assistant to join our team in Franklin, IN. If you enjoy a position where two days are never the same, this is an opportunity to be part of a team that takes pride in doing things the right way.

Job Summary:
The Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting several aspects of materials management, including packing, warehouse organization, job readiness, assembly, deburring, sawing, and other tasks.
Organizational Relationships :
  • Operations Assistant reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Assembly, Deburr, Saw, and Other Operations:
  • Follow internal work instructions, blueprints, and quality standards to perform a variety of manufacturing operations that meet customer specifications.
  • Perform manual assembly of components with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Execute deburring tasks using hand tools or machines to remove sharp edges and burrs from parts.
  • Operate saws and cutting equipment to prepare material for machining processes.
  • Conduct part washing and baking procedures to ensure cleanliness.
  • Perform laser etching on parts for identification, branding, or traceability purposes.
  • Support material handling and part movement for sorting, staging, and inventory organization.
Packing and Deliveries:
  • Assist the team with packing, banding, and staging parts for customers and vendors.
  • Ensure all items are safely and securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
  • Drive company vehicle to surrounding customer sites for delivery of finished product
  • Load, unload, and secure deliveries in company-owned and 3rd party trucks.
Shop Organization:
  • Operate pallet jacks and stand-up forklifts to transport, organize, and stage raw materials and work-in-process items.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support efficient production flow.
  • Ensure proper placement and labeling of materials for easy identification and access. Cleanliness, Safety, and Daily PM's
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain shop and area cleanliness through daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
  • Maintain fluid levels and communicate maintenance issues to supervisors.
Operate within
Company Parameters:
  • Ensure the conduct of operational activities and management is executed in a manner consistent with the company culture and core values.
  • Ensure activities align with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
  • Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus

  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working in a factory setting with exposure to various equipment, including CNC machinery
Pay:
Up to $20.00 per hour
