Tanker Operations Specialist (Yard Spotter)

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport and position tanker trailers within company property and between designated locations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are in safe operating condition. Adhere to all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures at all times. Accurately complete required logs, inspection reports, and movement documentation. Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and operations teams to prioritize and execute moves efficiently. Ensure proper hookup and securement of tankers, including hoses, valves, and connections where applicable. Monitor tanker condition and report any mechanical issues, leaks, or safety concerns immediately. Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment. Follow site-specific traffic patterns, speed limits, and safety guidelines. Support yard organization and staging to optimize workflow and operational efficiency. Additional Duties (as assigned):

• Support in-house product transfer operations, including equipment setup, line alignment using P&IDs, tank loading/unloading (ISO, trucks, drums, IBCs, Frac Tank), pump operation, monitoring, sampling, documentation, and post-transfer cleanup
• Maintain readiness and reliability of transfer and utility equipment through inspections, LOTO, preventive maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning (including chemical/water/NMP washing), and coordination with third-party services as needed
• Assist with operation and monitoring of utility systems (boilers, cooling towers, compressors, scrubbers, vacuum and IA/N2 systems)
• Perform general tank farm and facility housekeeping, including containment maintenance, leak identification and reporting, and maintaining clean and orderly work and control room areas

Qualifications:

Valid CDL (Class A) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat and Tanker endorsement preferred). Minimum 3-5 years of commercial driving experience (tanker experience preferred). Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices. Ability to maneuver large equipment in tight or congested areas. Good communication and teamwork skills. Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.

Pay:

$28.00 - $34.00 per hour
