About the
Role:
The Production Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely manufacturing of non-durable goods by developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules. This position requires close collaboration with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align manufacturing capacity with demand forecasts and inventory requirements. The Production Scheduler is responsible for monitoring production progress, identifying potential bottlenecks, and proactively adjusting schedules to minimize downtime and meet delivery deadlines. By analyzing production data and resource availability, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Production Scheduler ensures that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness as well as: Post finished goods and WIP into Business Central. Communicate any errors to Shipping and Receiving On call weekends and nights.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in production scheduling or manufacturing planning, preferably within the non-durable goods sector. Proficiency in production planning and scheduling software such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis tools. Familiarity with demand forecasting techniques and inventory management principles. Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar credentials. Previous experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability. Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure materials and resources are available to meet production timelines. Monitor daily production activities to track progress against the schedule and identify any deviations or delays. Adjust schedules proactively to address production bottlenecks, equipment downtime, or supply chain disruptions. Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements to optimize scheduling efficiency. Communicate schedule changes and updates clearly to all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency. Support the implementation of production planning software and tools to enhance scheduling accuracy and reporting.
