Summary Job Description:
Days/ 40 hours weekly Performs clerical duties pertaining to the efficient record keeping of the department as well as planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activities in the department as needed. Assumes responsibilities for job duties for cancer center patients and visitors. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to put the patient as number one and to put forth the utmost quality as a patient scheduler.
Essential Duties:
Greets visitors and patients in a prompt and polite manner to initialize and establish the patient visit while obtaining required patient information. Position requires ability to learn complex drug regimens for scheduling purposes and to adjust patient treatment schedules when needed. Communicates effectively and efficiently with patients, physicians, clinicians, peers, office staff, and outside providers to reflect BHP values and culture. Responsible for prompt processing of patients and patient records. Prepares accurate and appropriate patient identification materials as needed. Collects patient's insurance and identification cards front and back if needed. • Schedules chemotherapy, non-oncology infusions, injections, blood products, port flushes, and lab appointments for the cancer center and assists with radiation oncology scheduling. COVID-19
infusions and communicates with patients and ordering providers. Provide accurate information to patients and visitors of services offered by maintaining thorough knowledge of services provided by all areas in the cancer center. Assists patients with wheelchairs when needed. • Assists patients with Cancer Center Resource Area needs.
