Operations & Design Support Specialist

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Operations & Design Support Specialist in Shreveport, LA. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire , office-based assignment with our client. Overview of YOUR role as an Operations & Design Support Specialist This hybrid role is responsible for providing critical operational support while assisting with technical design tasks. You will manage internal administrative workflows and, with training, support power distribution projects through CAD and GIS tools. Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented communicators who are eager to develop technical design skills within a professional engineering environment. As an Operations & Design Support Specialist YOU will:

Administrative & Operational Support:

Input information accurately into databases to support work management, invoicing, and expense reconciliations. Support project management tasks including permitting, easements, and material ordering. Run reports from various systems and review data for completeness and correctness. Maintain administrative records for fleet vehicles and PPE assignments. Provide general clerical support such as scheduling meetings, coordinating office events, and ordering supplies.

Technical Design Support:

Begin with a shadowing period to learn specialized workflows, standards, and design tools. Perform basic CAD design for power pole layouts as you gain proficiency. Use GIS platforms to package and submit completed designs to clients. Assist in maintaining high-quality standards and attention to detail across all technical documentation. YOU are the ideal Operations & Design Support Specialist candidate if you have: A high school diploma or

GED. 0-1

years of experience in an administrative or operational support role. Strong interest in learning CAD (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS tools; basic experience is a major plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent communication skills and the willingness to ask clarifying questions. Ability to work a 4x10 schedule and maintain reliable attendance. It's a BONUS if you have: Prior exposure to utility or engineering office operations. Familiarity with Google Earth or utility GIS platforms. Experience in data entry or financial record maintenance. A desire for long-term career growth within utility design or project management.
