Job Description

Job Title:
Scheduling Coordinator Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-Time, 5 days per week, Monday to
Friday Location:
Skilled Nursing Facility (Approx. 130 Beds),
Harwich Position Summary:
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for organizing and maintaining daily staffing schedules for the nursing department, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). This role ensures appropriate staffing levels are met at all times in compliance with state and federal regulations, while supporting high-quality resident care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, manage, and adjust daily and weekly staff schedules for nursing personnel Ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts, including weekends and holidays Monitor staffing levels to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations Coordinate call-outs, shift changes, and last-minute staffing needs Complete all paperwork for PTO, over time, and call-outs, and track overtime - working to minimize unnecessary labor costs Ensure proper staff-to-resident ratios are consistently maintained Communicate staffing updates promptly with nursing leadership and staff Work closely with HR/Payroll for accurate timekeeping records Answer phone calls and check emails daily Support onboarding and orienting new hires Observe staff for compliance to uniform policy. Refer non-compliant staff to nursing supervisor
Qualifications:
Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) High school diploma or equivalent required Previous scheduling experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting strongly preferred Knowledge of staffing regulations in skilled nursing or healthcare environments preferred Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public Strong organizational and time management skills Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent staffing needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
