Job Description
The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is seeking an organized, professional, and highly dependable Office Operations Specialist to support the Tribal Historic Preservation Department. This role provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer (THPO) and helps keep critical department work moving efficiently across scheduling, communications, records, grants, financial tracking, and project coordination.

The position plays an important role in supporting preservation activities, consultation efforts, departmental coordination, and partnerships with federal, state, and community stakeholders. What You'll Do In this role, you will support day-to-day department operations by managing calendars, preparing meeting materials, drafting correspondence, tracking projects and deliverables, maintaining records, coordinating meetings and trainings, and supporting reports, presentations, and communications. You will also assist with grant and budget tracking, internal financial reconciliation, Section 106 consultation support, file management, and maintaining department systems and information. What It Takes to Thrive Successful candidates will bring strong organization, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential information with care. This role is best suited for someone with experience providing senior-level administrative support, strong writing and communication skills, comfort with Microsoft Office and related systems, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple priorities. Experience in tribal government, historic preservation, cultural resource management, or nonprofit administration is especially valuable. Qualifications Candidates should have 3-5 years of executive or senior-level administrative experience. A bachelor's degree in business, public administration, management, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license is required. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate interest in learning and preserving the culture, history, and traditions of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per hour
