GENERAL SUMMARY
Nursing Scheduler develops and maintains staffing schedules for the Nursing employees. Processes time sheets, maintains, and monitors absenteeism records, and responds to employee inquiries regarding hours. Compiles related statistics and prepares various statistical reports.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and maintains staffing schedules for nursing personnel, including preparing and posting master schedules in advance and preparing daily attendance sheets for all shifts. Ensures compliance with minimum staffing standards utilizing agency personnel as needed with prior approval of the Administrator in granting time off. Processes PTO (Paid Time Off) and holiday requests, and other forms of time off. Follows guidelines set forth by the Administrator and Union Contracts. Assist and communicates with Human Resources for attendance cards on all nursing staff, records absences and leaves of absences. Maintains attendance, mandates, and tardiness in line with the respective policies. Determines disciplinary action set forth by policies. Maintains records of disciplinary actions related to attendance, mandatory, and tardiness.- Provides the written discipline reports to Department Head Designee.
- Assist with payroll processing by utilizing a scheduling program to process daily exception reports and bi-weekly time sheets for all nursing staff
- Maintains On-Call schedule in Makeshift
- Prepares daily and any staffing reports for the State of Michigan.
- Notifies Human Resources of all employee status changes.
- Performs a variety of other tasks related to scheduling and attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, ANDTRAINING REQUIREMENTS
): High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge and skills typically acquired through experience in a clerical capacity requiring a high level or organization and attention to detail. One year experience in scheduling in a medical setting. Basic math skills. Ability to type forms and charts with accuracy. Computer knowledge. Potential exposure to abnormal resident/patient behavior, noise and unpleasant odors. Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens and other infectious diseases. Works in an office and other locations within the Facility and throughout the community.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Adjusting, lifting, or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Bending, stopping, twisting, kneeling, and shifting. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
