Open Until Filled SUMMARY The Patient Registration/Scheduler works in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for being the first point of contact for clinic visits and appointments as well as answering and routing of incoming phone calls. The Patient Registration/Scheduler prepares the daily patient appointment schedule and collects and verifies patient demographics and insurance information required for the visit. This position requires a pleasant demeanor and professional attitude.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED Three years of medical office experience One year of experience with data entry and Electronic Medical Records (EMR); EPIC experience preferred Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding Demonstrated experience with direct responsibility for the protection and appropriate use of highly confidential information Proficient in Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to the following: Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors in person or over the phone Interviews incoming patients prior to admission to gather demographic, insurance, and emergency information Verifies patient eligibility for services Explains policy and procedures as needed to ensure that patients and clients understand their rights Schedules and completes patient registration for clinic appointments Prepares electronic medical record for each patient visit to the clinic Completes data entry for the electronic medical record Completes patient registration entries within 24 hours of clinic visit Collects payment and reconciles cash draw Works closely with clinical staff and attends daily huddles to ensure accurate and timely communication regarding scheduling and patients Ensures reception area and front desk are cleaned and maintained Assist other department staff as assigned

Flexible, highly organized, and able to work independently Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong telephone skills and etiquette Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written Must have good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task Ability to operate postage, fax, and copy machines Able to be patient, courteous and reliable Ability to correspond with individuals throughout all levels of government and intergovernmental organizations
C ON DITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Occasional non-traditional hours including working evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned to meet program needs and deadlines Ability and willingness to travel for program requirements, meetings, and continuing education
