Job Summary The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing detailed production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of medical device products. This role coordinates closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer service teams to manage work order release, subcontract operations, and schedule adherence. The Production Scheduler plays a critical role in balancing demand, capacity, and material availability while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and execute production schedules that meet customer demand and delivery commitments while maximizing labor and equipment utilization, ensuring continuous workflow and preventing production downtime.
- Release and manage production orders (routers) in alignment with the schedule and material availability.
- Plan and coordinate subcontract operations, including issuing purchase orders, tracking progress, and managing vendor performance.
- Lead daily production scheduling meetings to communicate priorities, constraints, and schedule changes across cross-functional teams.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, material shortages, or capacity constraints.
- Provide real-time updates to Customer Service regarding changes to ship dates, ensuring clear and proactive communication.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize workflow.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP systems to support planning, scheduling, and reporting activities.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for improved efficiency, throughput, and on-time delivery performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling processes and production planning.
- Foster a safe, professional and team-oriented environment
- Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures
- Interface with Accounting on measurement and reporting of manufacturing metrics and cost control activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor Education & Experience Requirements
- 4-year degree (Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field) or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry preferred).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills with the ability to lead cross-functional meetings and influence stakeholders.
- Good organizational skills and analytical ability.
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting).
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering specifications, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Solid understanding of MRP principles, capacity planning, and production control (experience in SysPro preferred).
- Familiarity with medical device manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).
- Creative thinker who can develop and implement new ideas and approaches
- Lean Manufacturing experience
Pay:
